Water based sports surfaces are designed to meet FIH Global Hockey standards. Mordern water-based surfaces consist if dense, texturised, polyethylene monofilaments designed to meet the highest level of performance standards, with reduced water application and no infill.
Water is applied via an irrigation system to the sports surface immediately before play. The presence of water reduces the player/surface friction and modifies the speed of the ball.
