Artificial Football ‘3G’ Surface

FIFA approved 3G artificial surfaces in-filled with sand and rubber

Continuous evolution and innovation has resulted in development of the latest FIFA approved 3G artificial sports surfaces in-filled with sand and rubber.

The original Third Generation (3G) artificial turf pitches used fibrillating yarns that offer value for money and are still suitable for many football facilities where cost is the most important factor.

The newer harder wearing two tone profiled monofilament yarns improve the aesthetical look and long term performance of the artificial sports surface, controlling ball roll and compliance with FIFA regulations for a longer period of time.

Originally installed on ‘Dynamic’ stone bases surfaces were often prone to localised movement putting them outside of FIFA regulations over a relatively short period of time.

Third Generation Football Pitches:

As an Industry leader we strongly recommend an engineered macadam base, this provides a hard wearing, stable surface that will improve playing characteristics and pay dividends when considering life cycle costing.

We would also recommend installation of a 15mm thick in-situ rubber shockpad, this will improve player comfort and consistency of the surface over its lifetime while reducing maintenance costs in later years.

“When we decided to replace our synthetic pitch we automatically chose McArdle Sport-Tec as they had installed our original pitch. Our previous experience had shown us that McArdle Sport-Tec provided a very high level of service and were able to deliver the project with a minimum of fuss. We are delighted with the installation of our new Monofilament pitch and McArdle Sport-Tec once again demonstrated their ability to deliver a high quality project.”
